Almotamar.net, Saba - In its weekly meeting on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar valued the positive results of the 22nd Arab summit held lately in the Libyan city of Sort.

The cabinet pointed out the national indication related to the achieved direction for developing the Arab joint action embodied in the unanimity in the summit on the initiative of the Republic of Yemen and its leader President Ali Abdullah Saleh regarding the establishment of Arab States Union and exceeding the stage of the Arab League .

The cabinet has drawn the attention to practicality of the initiative that comes to keep pace with the essential developments in the life o the Arab nation and the world and the nature of relations governing peoples and nations under big international entities.

The cabinet praised the leading role of President Saleh, the chairmanship of the summit and the Arab leaders and heads of delegations, participating in the summit.


The cabinet also agreed on the Transport Minister's memorandum related to accessing Yemen to Protocol of 1988 relating to the International Convention for the Safety of life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974.

In its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the cabinet directed the concerned ministers to continue the constitutional procedures in order to issue the approval law of accession.

The Protocol aims at finding harmonized system between the inspection requirements on tankers and ships and the issuance of certifications in the lights of SOLAS convention.

The Protocol's annex included amendments and additions on the convention's annex, which includes certifications' forms of passenger ship safety certificates, cargo ship safety construction, cargo ship safety equipment certificate, and certificate of exemption.
