Almotamar.net - Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar, the Prime Minister of Yemen has affirmed that the economic file is the most important and it is connected with a large group of challenges the government faces. He added that the challenges are world ones in majority and other local, considering suffering of the economy of problems currently as a result of a group of challenges.

The PM broached challenges the Yemeni economy is facing and are represented by the cute recession in oil production to 280 thousand bpd as the general revenues of the budget are basically from oil by 75% and consequently the financial revenues of Yemen in 2009 were not exceeding $ 2 billion compared to $ 4 billion in 2008.

Dr Mujawar added that many people imagine that �we were not affected by the world financial crisis as our foreign reserves of foreign currency were not affected by the world financial crisis.� we became affected when the world financial crisis moved to the real economy and there were ramifications on oil prices, the premier said.

On the accelerating deterioration in price o the national currency against the dollar, the premier affirmed that �we are still in the safe situation and not worrying through availability of monetary reserve that exceeds $ 6 billion and 500 million. He pointed out to what the government faced in Saada war, sit-ins and acts of violence in southern provinces, terrorist events and piracy, all of which put weight on the Yemeni economy and heavier on influx of investments and investors into Yemen.

On anticorruption the Prime Minister affirmed that among the programme of reforms is the subject of transparency. The government finished the anticorruption law was finished and Supreme National Anticorruption Commission was established.

In an interview to Yemen TV channel the Prime Minister said, �Corruption exists but we achieved a step in anticorruption regarding investigation and trial of the corrupts. �
