Almotamar.net - Deputy Premier for Defense and Security Affairs in Yemen, the Minister of Local Administration Dr Rshad al-Alimi said Monday that the Ministry is presently working on preparation of a new draft law containing all developments for moving to the broad-powered local rule.

In his address to opening a symposium on local authority experiment, organized by Saba Centre for Strategic Studies in Sana on Monday, al-Alimi called the attention to the historical dimension of the local authority experiment in Yemen and how it represents today a turning-point in the construction and modernization process in Yemen in all areas.

Al-Alimi also said the initiative of the president of the republic regarding the local rule calls us all to respond to it and to proceed from it to realize the reality for implementation of this concept.

After the opening address of Dr al-Alimi, the symposium began discussing the working paper presented by the Assistant Professor of the General Law at the College of Law, Hudeida University Dr Abdulrahman Ahmed al-Mukhtar, pertaining to implementation of the principles for the local administration in the Yemen Republic.
