Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh held a meeting in Sana’a on Saturday with a number of sheikhs, social dignitaries and members of local councils and civil society organisations in the province of Abyan.

The meeting discussed many of the issues that concern the citizens in Abyan province in addition to considering the ongoing developments in the national arena, including the issues related to acts of chaos, destruction and terrorism committed by some sabotage and terrorist elements in the provinces of Aden and Abyan.

A number of participants in the meting talked and expressed their standing by the political leadership in its efforts for keeping security, stability and public peace in the society, indicating that they are soldiers of the homeland to protect its security, stability and unity.

They confirmed that that the sons of the southern and eastern provinces , particularly Abyan , are unity advocates and refuse guardianship on them by any person or side, pointing out they are against the elements renegade of the unity , and acts of sabotage , terror, blocking roads and killing of citizens and violation of security. They considered those committing such acts as are not representing the sons of Abyan province and are destructive aiming at sowing seditions and chaos to destroy the province.
The participants have announced their support for the initiative of the President of the republic for dialogue and reforms, pointing out the importance of responding to this initiative by the political forces.

President Saleh praised the stands of the sons of the sons of Abyan province for defending the revolution and the unity.

The President has also indicated to what the sons of Abyan have offered of sacrifices for the homeland and its unity, saying that Abyan is the gate of the unity triumph and appreciated sacrifices of Abyan sons and their stands towards the unity and security and stability of the homeland.

The President added that the unity opened a new era in the homeland and ended suffering of those years from which the sons of the homeland had suffered in the southern and eastern provinces of suppression and muffling mouths, the bloody conflicts and the unity came to bring security, stability, freedom and democracy.

The President affirmed his interest in demands and needs the speakers submitted in the meeting, instructing the concerned sides to respond to them within the province’s plans and resources.
