almotamar.net - The presidential committee tasked with resolving the conflict in Khaiwan and Huth areas of Amran province managed on Wednesday to reach a ceasefire agreement between the Houthis and tribesmen in both areas.

The agreement stipulates that the ceasefire starts today at 7:00 p.m., the armed men for both parties to conflict are withdrawn from all locations as of Thursday morning under the presidential committee's supervision and observers are deployed in all locations to oversee the cease-fire.

The committee's head Major General Fadhl al-Qawsi said that the agreement came in implementation of the agreement signed in Sana'a by all parties to end the conflict in all fronts that was ratified by President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

Six military officers coupled with a number of armed vehicles and six representatives of the conflicting parties were assigned to directly supervise the agreement implementation reached and report to the committee on any breaches might be taken place by any party, al-Qawsi said.

In relevant news, a presidential committee tasked with ending the tension and reinforcing security and stability in Jawf governorate held its first meeting.

It was dedicated to discuss the mechanisms of its actions to end the armed confrontations between the Houthis and tribesmen in some areas of the governorate in order to carry out the President's directives in this regard.

The committee approved several terms to implement a ceasefire, remove checkpoints, withdraw from all locations in confrontations areas in some districts and hand them over to military units.

Two days ago, another presidential committee reached a similar agreement in Harad town of Hajjah governorate.

It declared a ceasefire and ended the tension between the Houthis and Salafis who have been abided by to stop the armed confrontation, withdraw their gunmen from all sites and points they stationed in before, hand over them to military and security units.

Both parties also obligated to open roads from Harad to Sa'ada and not to deter the citizens' movability, as well as returning the gunmen to their villages and the situation as it was before the confrontations.
