The Supreme Commission for Election and Referendum (SCER) said preliminary results of vote-counting indicated to advance of the General People�s Congress (GPC)�s candidate for the presidential election Ali Abdullah Saleh by 82% of the votes while the candidate of the Joint t Meeting Parties (JMP)�s candidate got 16%.

Head of the SCER Khalid Ash-Sharif said in a press conference the preliminary results of vote-counting of 1250 boxes in balloting stations in various areas of the republic indicated that Ali Abdullah Saleh scored one million, 229 thousand and 8 votes while the Joint Meeting Parties candidate Faisal Bin Shamlan gained 186 thousand and 896 voices. The candidate for the National Council for Opposition gained 1967 voices, al-Majidi 1541 votes, and al-Azab 468 voices. Mr. Ash-Sharif the process of vote-counting is carried out normally and there are no any impediments.
