Almotamar Net - SANA’A- The candidates of the General People’s Congress (GPC) to the local council elections won 17 seats out of 18 seats at the level of governorates in al-Mahrah governorate, while the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) got only one seat, according to the semi-final vote counting results.  By: Issam al-Sufiani (almotamar.net) - SANA’A- The candidates of the General People’s Congress (GPC) to the local council elections won 17 seats out of 18 seats at the level of governorates in al-Mahrah governorate, while the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) got only one seat, according to the semi-final vote counting results.
Out of 163 electoral centers, the GPC candidates won 136 seats at the level of districts, the Islah Party 11 seats, the Yemeni Socialist Party 8, and independent candidates won 7 seats.
In Abyan governorate, the GPC candidates gained 17 seats at the level of governorates, while the JMP candidates won 3 seats. At the level of districts, the GPC won 151 seats out of 192; the Islah 18 seats; the Socialist 12; Nasserite Unionist and Ba’ath got one each; and the independent candidates gained 8 seats.
Similarly, GPC won a landslide victory in the governorate of Marib, winning 11 seats at the level of governorates, while the JMP gained one seat.
Out of 31 seats in the governorate of Hajjah, the GPC candidates won 27 seats at the level of governorates.
