almotamar.net - An official in the State Authority for Development of Yemen's islands said Friday the Jebel al-Tair Island volcano was still in a condition of eruption and volcanic lava were still spewed from a crater in the middle of the island reaching a height of 13 metres.
Director of the authority Yahya al-Kaynaie who is presently in the island of Jebel al-Tair leading a team of 22 persons including a team of geologists, chemists and physicists and environmentalists in addition to a team for diving and another TV team, said there are six smoke openings in a straight line spewing vapours in the island and the volcano is in a condition of continuous activity and the volcanic lava is active from one crater in the middle of the island.
